ISO9001 and ISO14001

In 2009 a decision was taken to apply for accreditation to ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004.  Work on developing an Integrated Management System was therefore started in September 2009 with the assistance of First Quality Solutions, a consultant based in Derby with a good track record of developing such systems.  BSI was chosen as the accrediting authority and by the end of the year full accreditation was gained.

 

Office Premises

Highfield Joinery and Building Services Ltd have operated from an office on Canal Street in Derby for many years. In 2008 the building was the subject of a compulsory purchase order due to the required development of that area of Derby.  New premises therefore needed to be found and a move into new premises took place on 17th May 2010 in Ripley becoming the Registered Office of the Company.
Mark Rowland, the Managing Director, is pleased that at last the business has secure accommodation in which to establish a firm base for many years to come without the threat of the forced closure associated with a compulsory purchase order.

 

FIRAS

Highfield Joinery gained accreditation to FIRAS in November 2008.  They are now one of only a few companies accredited to install fire doors in the Derby area.  Mark Rowland is very proud to have gained this accreditation and hopes to continue to develop the work and make it a core part of the business.

 

Golf Day

In keeping with previous years a Company golf day will again take place this year in aid of a chosen charity.  Once again Branston Golf Club has agreed to provide the facilities for the event, which will take place on 3rd September 2010.  Although several sponsors and players have already committed themselves to the event there are still some places left so if anyone is interested in supporting the charity then please contact the head office for further details.
